Piazza Cozzaglio is the heart of Tremosine sul Garda. It’s one of the hotspots of life in Pieve, popular with the entire Tremosine sul Gardacommunity.
The square offers a spectacular view of the lake, a wonderful vantage point where locals and visitors can admire the lake from above.
The square is dedicated to Arturo Cozzaglio, one of the most important notable citizens of Tremosine sul Garda - he was the protagonist of many events that transformed this ‘scattered town’, and dedicated his entire life to the study of science, engineering and architecture.
This walking route starts from Piazza Marconi, the spot where most tourists arrive. Leave the headquarters of the Municipality and the Tremosine sul Garda Pro Loco behind you and continue through Pieve’s historic center, admiring its alleys and stone houses. Once you get to Piazza Cozzaglio, take a look at the ground - your feet rest on the emblems of the 18 villages that form Tremosine sul Garda. A little further on, when you get to the terrace, you’ll be mesmerised by the blue of the lake and the green of the mountains.
Opposite Piazza Cozzaglio you can admire Monte Baldo and the Veronese shore of the lake, with the village of Malcesine.
On the other side of the terrace you’ll find the Porto-Pieve Trail, one of the most spectacular itineraries in Tremosine sul Garda. Going down the cliff, the path leads to the shore of Lake Garda, until the Forra.
Piazza Cozzaglio is the perfect place for an aperitivo at sunset, or for a dinner overlooking the lake. The restaurant overlooking the square is carved into the rock and has a terrace with large windows that offer unique views - don’t miss dining here!
At the end of the square there is a balcony, 423 meters above sea level, that will make you feel as if you’re touching the beauty of Lake Garda, giving you memories that will last forever.
This square is the venue for summer events like Vita nei Borghi or La Notte Romantica.
A curious fact about Piazza Cozzaglio? On the rock inside Miralago restaurant you can still see the hook where the teleforo used to be attached - this was a sort of ancient cableway, the only means of transporting goods from the lake to Pieve di Tremosine, before the construction of the Forra.
